Choice Hotels International, one of the world's largest lodging franchisors, is seeking a Cloud Disaster Recovery Engineer 1 in their Cloud Engineering Department. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining cloud native platform capabilities related to site reliability engineering and disaster recovery for AWS based technology.
Assists in maintaining and monitoring backups and backup policies
Creating tools and capabilities related to Disaster Recovery
Assisting with creating the Disaster Recovery Plan
Participate in the evaluation of and administer new tools, technologies and practices related to Disaster Recovery
Deliver Infrastructure as Code for all Disaster Recovery toolsets
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field required or equivalent experience
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies preferred: One or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, PowerShell or Groovy)
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies preferred: Cloud automation templating (CloudFormation or Terraform)
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies preferred: DevOps tool technologies such as Jenkins, Git and Nexus
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies preferred: Backup & Storage technologies such as AWS Backup Vault, S3
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies preferred: Infrastructure as Code tools and technologies such as AWS CDK, Ansible, Salt, Puppet
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Demonstrates key competencies to include Action oriented, Nimble learning and Ensures Accountability
