Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Junior Cyber Analyst to support national security and cybersecurity missions. The role analyzes security log data and threat information, monitors threat activity, identifies network anomalies, researches security issues, and produces actionable intelligence to support cyber operations and incident handling.
Analyzing security log data and threat information to collect, assess, and produce actionable intelligence that supports routine cyber operations and incident handling
Using specialized tools and services, you’ll support and contribute to monitoring threat activity, identifying network anomalies, and researching routine security issues
You'll apply cutting-edge technologies to enhance our ability to process metadata and content for discovery, while developing your skills in creating intelligence products that strengthen the organization’s cyber defense posture
Qualification
Required
Experience analyzing cybersecurity risks, participating in hands-on academic lab environments, or completing cybersecurity internships
Knowledge of threat monitoring technology, SIEM concepts, and basic networking principles such as TCP/IP, subnets, and standard ports
Ability to research routine technical issues, learn new security tools under direct supervision, and document findings clearly
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Computer Science
Preferred
Experience with scripting or querying languages such as Python, Bash, or SQL used to process or analyze security logs
Knowledge of common security frameworks such as the MITRE ATT&CK framework or NIST Special Publications
Ability to collaborate effectively in team-based environments to escalate and resolve routine technical issues
Top Secret clearance
Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Network+ Certification
