The Cyber Research Software Engineer II role involves developing systems and software to deter and defeat adversaries, requiring advanced software development skills and collaboration on cutting-edge research projects.
Perform advanced software development in C, with an emphasis on low-level operations
Implement software and systems across a variety of architectures and operating systems
Analyze systems to understand how they work and what happens when they break
Develop unique networking protocols and communication schemes
Operationalize our code by thoroughly testing, documenting, and integrating with sponsor systems

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Coursework and/or experience designing, developing, modifying, and debugging software or hardware systems or prototypes, with concrete examples of coding projects
Programming skills in one or more of: C, C++, Rust, Java, or Python
Active and transferable Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance is required on day one
Preferred
Experience with system architecture design, prototyping, and technical project leadership
Experience with assembly language (x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.)
Familiarity with security concepts (confidentiality/integrity/availability, authentication/authorization, etc.)
Reverse engineering skills using tools such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja
Capture the Flag (CTF) experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills in relevant technology topics
