Leidos is seeking an experienced Cyber Software Engineer to join their team in developing unmanned and autonomous ships for the US Government. The role involves designing, coding, and testing software as part of a scrum team, supporting various projects that enhance ship automation and navigation.
Design, develop, and debug mission critical software source code.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle.
Serve as technical team member to support troubleshooting and problem solving.
Perform peer reviews of software.
Collaborate with the continuous process improvement to help the team improve.
Assist with evaluating field tests.
Explain technical solutions, practices, and procedures to others within the team.
Travel (up to 25%)
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM field plus 2+ years of software development, or <2 with a master’s degree, and at least 2+ years using Linux.
Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
Experience with DevSecOps.
Experience with cyber security.
Experience working in a team environment
Experience designing and/or working with complex systems, considering performance and user requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred
Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++
Familiarity with automated build processes (Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.)
Familiarity with safety critical software
Demonstrable problem-solving skills
Active Secret Security Clearance preferred
