Cyber Systems Engineer - GMD Weapons Systems

The Cyber Systems Engineer will maintain the operation of multi-user computer systems and ensure the security and efficiency of the GMD Weapons Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators
  • Setting up administrator and service accounts
  • Maintaining system documentation
  • Tuning system performance
  • Installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products as well as make recommendations to purchase hardware and software
  • Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline
  • Minimum 6 months experience working on the GWS GNI product team
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret Security clearance

Preferred

  • Experience with RHEL and Cisco Networks
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite servers and configuration
  • Experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare vCenter
  • Experience with LAN and WAN management
  • Familiarity with Network Technologies and Cybersecurity
  • Strong systems administrator experience, specifically in Linux Operating System environments
  • Experience with scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc
  • Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
  • Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
