Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer, Associate to support the development, integration, and automation of cybersecurity solutions. The role involves applying programming and AI/ML concepts to enhance threat detection and operational efficiency while supporting cybersecurity operations.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows supporting cybersecurity operations
Assist in integrating security tools, including SIEM, EDR, IAM, and cloud security technologies
Support AI/ML-enabled detection capabilities such as anomaly detection and alert prioritization
Monitor and investigate security alerts using established processes and automation tools
Support vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance-related activities
Build and maintain data pipelines, analytics, dashboards, and reporting solutions
Document processes, workflows, and technical solutions to support operational consistency and audit readiness
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process improvement
Qualification
Required
Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
0–2 years of relevant technical experience
Python, PowerShell, SQL, or similar programming and scripting languages
Data analysis, reporting, dashboards, and analytics tools
API integrations and automation concepts
Foundational cybersecurity knowledge, including network, endpoint, cloud, or identity security
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
Candidates graduating in 2025 or 2026 are strongly preferred
One or more years of relevant technical experience gained through internships, projects, research, coursework, or professional employment
SOAR platforms and automation tools
AWS and/or Azure security fundamentals
AI-enabled cybersecurity tools or data analytics platforms
