The Data Security Analyst role involves supporting the implementation and enforcement of data security controls to protect sensitive enterprise data across various environments, while collaborating with teams to enhance the organization's data security posture.
Support implementation of enterprise data classification and labeling standards
Assist with identification and inventory of sensitive data across systems
Help enforce data handling, retention, and protection policies
Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to improve data governance practices
Assist with execution and monitoring of data security controls aligned to regulatory requirements and internal frameworks
Support audit and assessment activities through documentation and evidence collection
Support administration and tuning of data security tools
Assist in improving alert fidelity and reducing false positives
Contribute to reporting and dashboards for data security metrics
Support automation and process improvement efforts where applicable
Stay informed on emerging data security threats and trends (e.g., insider risk, data leakage)
Participate in team knowledge-sharing and training initiatives
Contribute to ongoing improvements in data protection processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science
Foundational understanding of: Information security principles (CIA triad, least privilege, defense-in-depth)
Foundational understanding of: Data protection concepts (classification, encryption, DLP)
Basic knowledge of enterprise IT environments (cloud, endpoint, or networking concepts)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
