As an Engineer in Cyber Security, you will deploy, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools to enhance the company's security posture and support incident response efforts.
Deploy and configure core cybersecurity tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management) to support organizational security objectives.
Monitor the health and performance of security tools, applying updates and patches to maintain operational effectiveness.
Assist in incident response by leveraging security tools to provide accurate data and support threat detection and mitigation.
Troubleshoot and resolve common tool-related issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers or vendors as needed.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate tools into enterprise systems and automate routine tasks using basic scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
Participate in evaluating tool effectiveness and recommend improvements under the guidance of senior team members.
Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and workflows to ensure consistency and scalability across the team.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
2–4 years of experience working with cybersecurity tools or IT infrastructure security.
Familiarity with one or more security technologies (e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, PAM) and a willingness to learn others.
Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
Understanding of Linux and Windows environments; exposure to virtualization or cloud platforms is a plus.
Awareness of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn advanced security concepts.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively.
Preferred
Entry-level or intermediate certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, or vendor-specific) are a plus but not required.
