The entry-level Information System Security Engineer will provide security engineering support by managing cyber requirements, validating security implementations, supporting system authorizations, and integrating cybersecurity into system design and development.
Participate in the development, review, and advisement of programs on the engineering design, development, and deployment of secure systems, space platforms, networks, and applications, aligning its implementation across the mission acquisition lifecycle
Assist in validating and verifying system security requirements definitions and analysis and manages system security designs using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles
Support the development and maintaining of cybersecurity models, simulations, and risk assessments using CAMEO
Assist in maintaining and promoting a comprehensive and holistic cybersecurity engineering view while addressing stakeholder security risks and concerns through the application of systems engineering skills
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cybersecurity into system design and development
Stay up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and applying this knowledge to improve system security
Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for system and network operations
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Perform other duties as necessary
Qualification
Required
* BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required
* Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree and/or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
* CompTIA Security+ CE certification
* Knowledge of information security principles, practices, technologies, and standards, including NIST Standards (800-37, 800-53), DISA STIGs, and CIS benchmarks
* Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts and software security engineering principles
* Familiarity with MBSE tools such as SysML, UML, or similar
* Willingness to assist in the planning and establishing of technical baselines and derived requirements with or without customer specifications for proposals and on programs containing information systems
* Foundational knowledge of systems engineering and cybersecurity engineering disciplines in the Aerospace and Defense industry
* Effective communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
* Willingness to be hands-on and work in a fast-paced environment
A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access
Preferred
* CASP CE, CSSLP, or CISSP certifications
* Familiarization with Cloud-based security solutions, AWS preferred
* Knowledge of cybersecurity design principles applicable to Space Vehicles
* Knowledge of the Space Attack Research and Tactic Analysis (SPARTA) matrix
* Familiarization with US Space Force cybersecurity policy, processes, and requirements
