Viasat is hiring an Information Security Specialist to support classified and unclassified IT environments. The role provides end-user and application support, deploys and maintains systems, manages access and secure data transfers, and ensures technical work complies with security policies and frameworks.

Responsibilities

Provide end-user support for classified and unclassified requests
Execute client system deployments and hardware refreshes
Perform secure data transfers between isolated networks
Manage user accounts and access controls in accordance with policies
Conduct software evaluations and provide technical application support
Maintain hardware inventory and detailed system documentation
Ensure all technical activities align with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ISSM established guidelines

Qualification

Required

Completion of Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology or a related field
This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience
This position requires U.S. Citizenship
This position requires an Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and Active Directory
Knowledge of NIST 800-53 or NIST 800-171 requirements
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II certification
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds for hardware deployments

Preferred

1+ years of experience working in classified IT/technical support
Experience with imaging tools and automated deployment software
Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Linux, Mac, or virtualization technologies
