The role of Professional Engineer in Forensic Services involves leading and supporting forensic investigations into various structural failures and conducting field investigations to analyze these failures.
Prepare reports documenting causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
Active Professional Engineering (PE) license in one or more Midwest states, or ability to obtain.
2-5 years proven experience in forensic engineering, including building assessments and failure analysis.
Proficiency in structural systems and foundation design, including concrete, masonry, wood, and steel is a plus.
Familiarity with building codes and construction documentation.
Willingness to travel extensively across the Midwest for site investigations.
Capable of accessing multi-story roofs or willing to train.
Capable to access crawlspaces and attics.
