The Security Engineer will implement security controls for Department of Defense client networks and infrastructure to meet federal compliance requirements. The role includes conducting technical assessments, analyzing security requirements, monitoring audits, reviewing security logs, and developing technical solutions and documentation.
Perform technical assessments of systems and networks and identify deviations from acceptable configurations or local policy
Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards
Conduct reviews of each system audits and monitor corrective actions until closure
Review security logs, analyze security reports, and provide technical security solutions for systems and software
Exercise good cyber hygiene in support of the overall programs
Present security information to management and customers
Work on multiple tasks simultaneously
Work on complex technical problems and provide solutions which are innovative
Derive assignments using self-initiative and execute courses of action required to obtain desired results
Apply strong interpersonal, organizational, and teambuilding skills
Apply strong writing and oral presentation skills
Write final-version technical documents and reports
Qualification
Required
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
A Bachelor's degree in a STEM degree with some relevant years of experience
OR a Master's degree in STEM
Ability to follow and create technical instructions for future execution
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting steps on Linux-based and Windows-based systems
Ability to apply and review STIG configurations and remediate vulnerability assessment findings for RedHat Enterprise Linux, Windows products, and virtualization products
Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, VMware ESXi
Working knowledge of firewalls and networking
Hold one of the following certifications: CAP, CASP CE, CISM, GSLC, CISSP Associate, Security+ or CISSP)
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, and/or "on call" support
Ability to travel up to 25% per year (CONUS/OCONUS)
