The company is seeking a Systems Security Engineer I to support cybersecurity for advanced airborne and ground mission systems through secure configurations, vulnerability management, security documentation, and Risk Management Framework compliance activities.
Assist with system categorization and initial control mapping to NIST SP 800 53
Support development and maintenance of System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and security evidence repositories
Execute baseline vulnerability scans and document findings for remediation tracking
Apply standard configuration baselines and STIG checklists to assigned components
Help assemble inputs for Security Assessment Plans and assessment activities
Support basic control verification activities and collect test evidence during integration or lab events
Qualification
Required
Self-driven with a strong sense of accountability, able to manage tasks and deliver quality work on schedule
Excellent written and verbal communication
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Fundamental understanding of System Security processes
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, STIG concepts, and basic hardening procedures
Collaborative mindset with active listening and respect for diverse viewpoints
Bachelor's Degree in or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related discipline **including those with degrees in-progress with completion** **expected by May 2027 (or earlier).**
Preferred
Previous internships or experience with development projects is desired
Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance
