Merck is seeking participants for their Future Talent Program, which offers Cooperative education opportunities for up to 6 months. The role involves supporting project delivery activities and assisting with data collection and analysis to drive digital initiatives across supplier management and workplace services.
Support project delivery activities across GSMG and GWES initiatives: maintain timelines, update trackers, coordinate meetings, and communicate status to stakeholders and delivery teams.
Assist with data collection, cleaning, and exploratory analysis from internal sources (procurement/supplier performance data, workplace experience metrics) and external sources (market reports, industry trends).
Produce visualizations and concise summaries to surface insights and support decision‑making for DS&I, GSMG, GWES, and IT stakeholders.
Prepare client‑ready artifacts: slide decks, one‑pagers, journey maps, personas, process flows, and pilot reports tailored for leadership and operational teams.
Participate in qualitative research and discovery activities (interviews, workshops, affinity mapping) to capture user needs across supplier, workplace, and IT stakeholders.
Support measurement planning and reporting: help define KPIs, draft reporting templates, and prepare status dashboards to track pilot and program outcomes.
Contribute to ideation sessions and co‑creation workshops; document outputs and translate into actionable next steps for delivery teams.
Assist with pilot coordination and documentation, ensuring learnings are captured for scale and integration across GSMG/GWES.
Maintain and contribute to the DS&I knowledge base, templates, and playbooks to support consistent, repeatable delivery.
Perform other duties and ad‑hoc analyses as requested by the manager or DS&I leadership.
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in one of the following fields (or closely related): Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT)
Preferred
Ability to identify high‑value questions, trim unnecessary details, and deliver concise, actionable insights that help stakeholders make decisions quickly.
Show curiosity, a willingness to test new ideas, and the ability to apply lessons learned to improve outcomes and scale successful solutions.
Be willing to present alternative viewpoints, ask questions, and incorporate feedback from colleagues and stakeholders to strengthen delivery.
Work collaboratively, listen actively, value diverse perspectives, and maintain professionalism and integrity when navigating cross‑functional relationships.
Understanding or interest in digital delivery, supplier management, workplace services, and IT program coordination.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data in Excel, SQL, Python, or R. Understanding of dimensional modeling for analytics/data warehousing.
Experience with relevant technologies and tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Databricks, and Amazon Redshift.
Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is helpful.
