American Airlines is an airline company that operates a diverse fleet of aircraft. They are seeking an Analyst/Sr Analyst in Fuel Operations to provide support and assistance in minimizing fueling costs while ensuring operational integrity and safety.
Improve into-plane fueling performance by business partners, through querying data in SQL and developing advanced analytical solutions to address complex business requirements.
Supporting airline long term strategic and growth initiatives through automating workflows in Alteryx, and Databricks to transform fuel data into useful information and inform business decisions and actions.
Applying forecasting and analytical models in business intelligence for analyzing departure delays caused by fueling issues and improving fueling operations.
Communicates effectively with stakeholders across the company and promote data-driven decision-making utilizing visualization tools like Tableau.
Interface with IT departments, related business departments, and external business partners to ensure coordinated planning, evaluation and implementation of new decision support systems.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering etc.)
Ability to query data from SQL and Teradata database to perform detailed analysis to support leadership in making data-driven decisions.
Ability to develop and automate process in Alteryx and Databricks.
Ability to utilize Tableau for data presentation and schedule automated reports to inform business partners on into-plane fueling activities.
Ability to communicate, collaborate, and work cross-functionally with IT and business partners to drive outcomes which benefit the airline.
Ability to leverage understanding of the airline business and commercial goals to drive results and innovative solutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Flexible and able to work in an occasionally fast-paced environment.
Preferred
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering etc.)
Domain knowledge in the airline industry is a plus
