Tetra Tech Europe is a technical consultancy providing consulting and engineering services across the project lifecycle worldwide. The Assistant Transport Modeller will support transport planning and modelling projects by preparing and analysing data, summarising model outputs, and contributing to technical papers and client reports. The role is based in Leicester and includes on-the-job training in modelling software such as VISUM and SATURN.
You will support our growing workload, working on a wide variety of transport planning and modelling projects for clients across the private and public sectors
You will assist colleagues with checking, analysing and preparing data for use in transport models, as well as analysing and summarising outputs for inclusion in client reports
Your work will involve spreadsheets, databases and coding
You will undertake your work with a high degree of diligence and quality, in line with Tetra Tech’s Quality Assurance processes
You will assist colleagues in preparing technical papers and client reports and will need to be well organised and able to manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines
Qualification
Required
A drive to succeed, willingness to get involved and a strong focus on results and project delivery
Strong spreadsheet skills, some coding experience and the ability to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis, reports and drawings
A methodical approach to problem solving, with strong attention to detail
Strong team-working capabilities and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across project activities
Excellent written and oral communication skills, supporting the preparation of technical papers and client reports
You should have a BSc in Mathematics, although a numerate degree in a relevant subject such as Economics or Physics will also be considered
Preferred
An MSc or PhD in Mathematics, Transport Planning or Engineering
experience using Python
an interest in transport economics
developing project management skills
A full, clean UK driving licence
