We're looking for a creative, collaborative, and highly motivated computational biologist to join our Applied Biosciences R&D team to work on exciting, advanced biology research projects for the U.S. Government
The candidate will work with a team of about 12 people, and contribute to multi-year, interdisciplinary programs that bring together teams in biology, engineering, and data science to develop and transition new biotechnology solutions in support of national security
Candidates should expect that they may be required to travel to a BBN, RTX, teammate, or customer site for meetings or other business-related activities
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field
Demonstrated programming experience (navigating Linux command line environment; Python for biological analysis and software development)
Experience using development infrastructure such as git/version control, virtual environments (e.g., conda, Python venv, R renv, virtual machines), containerization (e.g., Docker, Apptainer), etc
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Bioinformatics analysis experience with a knowledge of common bioinformatics tools and workflows (genomics required; additional ‘omics modalities desirable)
Experience working with common bioinformatics databases (NCBI, UniProt, PDB, etc.)
Experience with data science techniques: data analysis, automation, visualization techniques
Experience using artificial intelligence and/or machine learning tools to generate analytical outcomes
Experience with generating data analysis reports and communicating findings to the team
