They are seeking a Data Scientist who will be responsible for analyzing portfolio acquisitions and operations data to drive innovation in underwriting results and collection strategies.
Gathering source data and perform data preparation/data cleaning for modeling and analysis
Exploring datasets to identify relevant attributes as part of an analytical project
Developing and testing hypotheses of data presented internally or by a business partner
Building increasingly complex models using multiple ML algorithms with appropriate oversight
Performing data analysis and reporting to discover trends and patterns that can be used to extract valuable business insights
Utilizing Microsoft SQL, MS Excel, R and/or Python, Power BI and other statistical tools
Presenting research and study findings to peers and management
Qualification
Required
BA/BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or quantitative field, with Data Science coursework or training; master's degree preferred
1 to 3 years of working experience
Programming in a suitable language(s) for Data Science, such as Python or R
Experienced with advanced ML modeling algorithms for supervised and unsupervised learning
Ability to mine, clean and manage large data sets and troubleshoot data issues identified
Skilled performing statistical analysis to interpret data, identify trends and create informative visualizations to report data findings
SQL programming in SQL Server and building reports and dashboards in Power BI desktop and service
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (charts/graphs/formulas/VBA/data tables/goal seek)
Ability to pass a criminal background check
