Nasdaq is seeking an Extended Hours Surveillance Analyst to join their Market Surveillance team. This role involves monitoring trading activity during overnight sessions to ensure market integrity and requires attention to detail and independent decision-making during non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor equity trading in real time, identifying suspicious patterns, unusual price movements, and order book anomalies
  • Review automated surveillance alerts and material disclosures from listed companies, escalating issues when needed
  • Intervene in trading when necessary, including trade breaks and trading suspensions
  • Draft preliminary referrals for suspected market abuse or disciplinary matters
  • Collaborate with the MarketWatch team to fulfill regulatory responsibilities and contribute to special projects

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, trading operations, or a related area
  • Strong understanding of equity markets and trading mechanisms
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Preferred

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and market abuse detection
  • Knowledge of surveillance tools and alert management systems
