The Instrument Application Administrator will provide comprehensive business and system support for analytical software and associated hardware, ensuring stable systems and supporting software upgrades and validation efforts.
The Application Administrator provides comprehensive business and system support for analytical software and associated dedicated hardware as well as administrative support for server-based laboratory applications.
Employs skilled system and technical knowledge to ensure stable systems environment, support the implementation of software upgrades, configure network connectivity, and identify technical enhancements to support the business needs.
Support the validation team to gather requirements, write test scripts and create other validation deliverables.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years' experience working in a software development environment, of which at least 2 years must be directly involved in requirement gathering) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Thorough knowledge of two or more technology services (Server – Windows/Linux; Data Centers; Storage; Virtualization; Messaging; Global Operations Management; Citrix; and Cloud platforms)- Two of these areas is required.
Configuring systems is required.
Troubleshooting systems is required.
Good MS Office skills is required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.
Preferred
Knowledge of system development life cycle and requirements methodology is preferred.
Ability to write use cases and design specifications for moderately complex systems is preferred.
Ability to estimate level of effort for small to medium-sized projects.
