American Airlines is an airline company that operates a diverse fleet of aircraft. The role of Sr Analyst, Safety Data Analytics is pivotal in enhancing safety through advanced analytical approaches, supporting safety initiatives, and leading data-driven projects.
Supports Safety initiatives through measurement and analysis of key performance metrics.
Use reporting and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to present data across the company and to senior leaders.
Participates in the development of an overall analytics plan for Safety and lead highly visible projects across multiple business partners to support the plan.
Act as the data expert and main point of contact for data requests around your area of expertise.
Use Python and SQL skills to clean up, join and synthesize complex datasets.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics or related quantitative discipline; or equivalent experience/training.
2 years of experience with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases
Experience pulling and manipulating data using SQL and/or other languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS, Databricks, etc.)
Experience using Tableau or Power BI
Advanced aptitude in problem-solving, including the ability to logically structure an appropriate analytical framework.
Strong project management skills, including expertise managing projects across departments.
Experience delivering presentations and leading collaboration across all levels of management.
Excellent leadership and teamwork skills with proven ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple complex deliverables.
Preferred
Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics or related quantitative discipline; or equivalent experience/training.
Advanced knowledge of Tableau or Power BI
Experience in Python or R
Experience developing data solutions on a Big Data platform utilizing tools such as Databricks and Spark
Aviation industry experience or airline related project history
