Thermo Fisher Scientific is a global leader in serving science, and they are seeking a Technical Application Specialist II to support the transplant community worldwide. The role involves providing technical support, analyzing customer data, resolving product performance issues, and conducting laboratory investigations.
Provide technical support through analysis of customer data and provide meaningful interpretations to customers.
Resolve customer product performance inquiries:
Analyze product performance conditions and replicate end-user laboratory conditions in order to identify and isolate factors causing product performance failures.
Independently conduct tests and/or experiments to validate proposed solutions.
Communicate recommendations to end-users.
Perform regular troubleshooting to maintain and show strength in technical skills and knowledge.
Prepare and present reports and formal presentations to management regarding activities and results as required.
Participating as an instructor for in-house and external workshops.
Maintain professional relationship with development teams for continuous self-training and provide teams with technical findings to supplement R&D’s continuous quality product improvement programs.
Travel as needed both Domestically or Internationally to support larger workshops or conferences.
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor of Science Degree in the Biological Sciences
Min 2+ years of HLA experience
Specific knowledge of basic immunology and molecular biology
Maintain confidentiality of critical laboratory data and business information
Exercise independent discretion and judgment in execution of their duties
Communicate efficiently, both orally and in writing with management, staff members and third parties (customers and vendors)
Laboratory setting working with human blood and/or tissue products
Regularly sit in front of monitor using PC for data input and/or analysis
Extended phone discussions with customers and channel partners
Preferred
Practical bench experience in one or more of these areas strongly preferred: HLA Typing by NGS, SBT, SSP, SSO
HLA Antibody Screening
Proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
