National Grid is hiring an Analyst (Corporate Safety) for their Safety Policy & Programs department. The role involves ensuring accuracy of safety incident data and providing insights to improve safety performance through data analysis and visualization.
Gather, analyze, and interpret US safety and health data using statistical and data validation techniques, while ensuring quality and consistency across our company’s businesses, to drive safety initiatives and engagement
Manage reporting of monthly data processes and develop concepts to continuously improve and reduce safety related incidents
Identify trends, insights, and key drivers from relevant data sources to initiate or supplement safety program initiatives and develop strategic reporting and performance communications
Design, develop, and maintain operationalized data visualizations in PowerBI
Recommend and implement efficiencies in data management, reporting processes, and data visualization techniques
Leverage AI and machine learning techniques to enhance data analysis and predictive modeling for safety performance improvement
Support development and maintenance of the US incident management system
Support the accurate, timely reporting and compliance of safety data and KPIs, defining metrics, targets and indicators, to maintain compliance with regulatory authorities, business leadership and key stakeholders
Manage periodic audits and support training to ensure the highest quality of data and reports are maintained
Conduct and manage benchmarking to external organizations and analyze benchmarking results
Design and launch frequent strategic communications, safety campaigns, presentations, and materials across multiple platforms to drive engagement and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Respond to high volumes of requests from diverse teams, prioritizing effectively while maintaining strong communication and service quality
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in data or business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related area(s) required
Experience and skills writing code or syntax, extracting and transforming data in Excel, SQL, Python and/or other programming skills
Experience with business and statistical modeling and strong data visualization skills with business intelligence platforms (i.e. PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx)
Experience bringing together data systems and data driven reporting
Experience managing multiple complex activities associated with project work
Advocate for data analytics value across a business and to diverse audiences
Experience conducting structured business analysis and generating well-defined requirements
Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and tools, ability to develop and deploy predictive models
Understanding of ethical considerations in AI and data usage, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and practices
Strong design skills to develop safety awareness and communication materials
Strong communication, critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail
Demonstrates ability to influence stakeholders and build interpersonal relationships
