RBC is seeking a skilled and analytical Governance and Control Analyst to play a key role in the development and implementation of governance initiatives. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing audit processes, along with supporting quality assurance and control activities.
Support quality assurance, governance, and control activities related to reconciliations
Perform data analysis and reporting to support reconciliation metrics and control monitoring
Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, and innovate strategies to strengthen risk monitoring and governance
Provide development advice on the design of new controls to adequately address identified risks
Support governance and control projects as assigned
Assist in managing and coordinating internal and external audit/SOX processes, including preparation, data collection, and documentation
Investigate complex reconciliation breaks by collaborating with operations and IT teams to identify root causes and implement preventative measures
Assist with process testing and validation to verify the integrity of reconciliation workflows and identify
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or other related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex data sets, identify root causes, resolve discrepancies, and drive issues to resolution
A curious and inquiring mindset, with a passion for leveraging data analytics and insights to inform decision-making
A proactive mindset and adaptable approach, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple demands and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience with financial reconciliation processes or transaction analysis
Preferred
Strong knowledge of General Ledger reconciliation processing and Enterprise GL Attestation policy
Exposure to SOX control testing frameworks and processes with an understanding of control design and documentation
Experience in Operational Risk, Audit, or Compliance role, with proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with financial reporting and internal controls
