They are seeking an Associate Data Scientist responsible for designing and implementing advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to address complex business challenges.
Collaborate with functional organizations across Personal Lines to understand company needs and devise possible solutions.
Keep up to date with the latest technology & artificial intelligence trends and apply them to daily work.
Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers through compelling visualizations.
Implement statistical, mathematical, or machine learning methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis.
Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Physics, etc. is required.
Practical experience with statistical programming languages such as R and Python.
Strong data processing and database programming skills, including knowledge of SQL.
Familiarity with data mining and complex statistical analysis.
Ability to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills.
Ability to communicate complex and technical findings to a less technical audience.
Intellectual curiosity for applying machine learning approaches and modeling techniques to solve complex business problems.
Preferred
While industry experience and knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance sector are not mandatory, they are preferred.
A relevant graduate degree and/or Actuarial designation are also preferred.
Knowledge of cloud environments or experience with the Microsoft Azure platform preferable.
