Best Buy is seeking an Associate Decision Scientist for the Strategic Analytics team. The role involves conducting data analysis and supporting business analytics to enhance the MyBBY Membership Program through advanced analytics and decision support.
Participate in scoping sessions and delivery meetings with business clients, documenting requirements, objectives, and specifications
Tackle open-ended business problems with a strategic lens, offering creative, data-driven solutions
Querying structured data and reports using SQL, Python or R
Calculate variances and analyze trends with existing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Perform analytics using scientific methods that rely upon mathematics, statistics and hypothesis testing
Perform data validation to ensure the accuracy of analytical results
Translate data into visualizations by mapping data into graphical elements
Create and package insights to business stakeholders in a non-technical, easy to understand manner
Answer questions on dataset types and their limitations
Collaborate with team members to share findings and recommendations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor
2 or more years of experience in business, analytics, or related area
2 or more years of experience with analytics, reporting and/or database knowledge (using tools, applications and platforms such as SQL, Python or R)
1 or more years of experience collaborating cross functionally with various business teams
Preferred
Experience presenting to various levels within an organization
Familiarity with cloud data analytics/engineering
1 or more years of experience with cloud data analytics/engineering
