As a Data Scientist on the Embedded Engineering team, you will transform telemetry data from over 70 million devices into actionable insights, collaborating with senior engineers and data leads to utilize modern cloud-native tools for data modeling and analysis.
Assist in building and validating models that analyze device telemetry, reliability, and performance.
Support upstream telemetry transformation pipelines using Apache NiFi and Fluent Bit.
Collaborate with engineering to define and refine metadata indexing, data cataloging, and consumption mapping.
Develop and maintain reproducible data workflows using Python, SQL, and AWS-native tools (Athena, S3, Redshift, DocumentDB).
Participate in the creation of dashboards and visualizations for internal and customer-facing metrics.
Contribute to monitoring and anomaly detection systems for real-time telemetry streams.
Document data definitions, assumptions, and methodologies in collaboration with the data platform lead.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
0–2 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and modeling.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and distributed data systems.
Exposure to time-series data, telemetry, or IoT analytics is a plus.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred
Experience with Apache NiFi, Fluent Bit, or similar data ingestion tools.
Knowledge of AWS services such as Athena, Redshift, S3, and DocumentDB.
Understanding of Kubernetes and containerized data workflows.
Experience with data cataloging and metadata management tools.
