Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced forecasting models that could drive strategic decisions in various aspects of the business.
  • Analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and derive actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Present findings and data-driven recommendations to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics employees to follow.
  • Develop and implement data collection methodologies and data quality assurance processes.
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
  • Create data visualizations, reports, and dashboards to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a role heavily focused on data forecasting or predictive modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with expertise in relevant forecasting libraries (e.g., DARTS, Prophet, SKTime, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma.
  • Hands-on experience applying various forecasting techniques, such as time series analysis (e.g. Exponential Smoothing, ARIMA, SARIMA), regression-based forecasting, and advanced machine learning algorithms for forecasting.
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and the ability to critically evaluate forecasting model performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business forecasting needs into robust analytical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present complex results and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven ability to both understand business objectives and quantify the impact that projects have towards meeting these objectives.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of advanced forecasting techniques and experience incorporating external factors (e.g., holidays and weather) into forecasts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their forecasting services.
  • Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for handling large-scale datasets.
  • Familiarity with data engineering processes relevant to building and deploying forecasting pipelines (e.g. Apache Airflow, DBT, Snowflake Tasks).
  • Previous work experience within a relevant industry.
