FIS is a global leader in financial services technology, and they are seeking a Data Scientist I for their University Program. The role involves analyzing large datasets, building predictive models, and collaborating with various teams to provide data-driven insights.
Analyze and explore datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business and product needs
Assist in building, testing, and improving predictive models and analytical solutions
Work with senior team members to translate business questions into data-driven approaches
Create visualizations and summaries to communicate findings in a clear and understandable way
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, and analytics) on projects
Support data preparation, quality checks, and validation processes to ensure reliable results
Learn and apply statistical, machine learning, and data analysis techniques to real business problems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related)
Basic knowledge of data analysis, statistics, or machine learning concepts
Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R) and SQL
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences (with guidance)
Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and business concepts
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
Internship or academic project experience involving data analysis or modeling
Exposure to tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake)
Familiarity with SAS or working with large datasets
