Best Buy is seeking a Data Scientist, Marketing to join our growing Data and Analytics team. In this role, you will develop and deploy a variety of scientific solutions to enhance Best Buy’s marketing efforts and optimize customer interactions.
Develop forecasting, optimization and simulation algorithms to provide the marketing investment and allocation recommendations to improve return on media spend
Create a structured data science plan aligned to marketing priorities, partner with cross-functional teams to gain buy-in and leads hands-on execution to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes
Own the full lifecycle of model development from ideation and data exploration, algorithm design and testing, algorithm development and deployment, to algorithm monitoring and tuning in production
Develop marketing science models to track return on ad spend by vehicle, message, campaign for BestBuy and Advertisers. Quantify impact on revenue, traffic, customer base, brand love, intent to shop
Develop and implement innovative approaches to experimentation and granular campaign measurement to standardize and scale effectiveness measurement. Empower the marketing teams to use these models to measure experimentation success
Research market and industry information to compile and synthesize issues and trends relevant to data models. Also recommend and implement improvements to new and existing algorithmic approaches
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, etc.), including 2 years of applied or industry experience; or, the equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of experience in marketing data science models like marketing mix models, marketing attribution and advanced statistical techniques
2+ years experience using one or more data science/analytics programming language (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
1+ years of experience using cloud data platforms such as GCP, AWS, Snowflake etc. for model development, analysis, and operationalization
Effectively communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
2+ years of experience in data wrangling, validating data and solutions, supervised and unsupervised models, AI and ML frameworks
Preferred
Master's degree or Ph.D. in a highly quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, etc.)
5+ years of experience in marketing data science to include modeling and testing, segmentation, measurement, targeting, and optimization with scenario planning
5+ years of experience with marketing mix modeling multi-touch attribution modeling
5+ years of experience in retail, consumer packaged goods, pharma, or hi-tech industries
5+ years of experience in ad-tech or mar-tech, site analytics and CRM platforms
