Jacobs is a global company focused on solving critical problems in various sectors. They are seeking a motivated Data Scientist to support engineers and project managers on water treatment and modeling projects, emphasizing digital solutions and collaboration.
Assist senior and mid-level engineers on larger, complex projects, including task management.
Participate in and lead tasks.
Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project goals.
Prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and calculations.
Prepare models, engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.
Possess a positive attitude, are dependable and meet assigned project deadlines.
Effectively work with project teams with diverse technical skill sets and geographic locations
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
0-3 years of Data Science/Digital Implementation experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects
Prioritize data governance and data management best practices
Work with project managers and clients to understand needs and be able to come up with digital solutions to fill those needs
Possess a positive attitude, are dependable and meet assigned project deadlines
Effectively work with project teams with diverse technical skill sets and geographic locations
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and work in a fast-paced consulting environment
Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships
Preferred
Professional experience in consulting, digital solutions, data engineering, data management, data analysis, GIS, engineering, and visualization
Expertise in tools and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, Python, SQL, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), GIS, and database technology (data lakes, vector database, etc.)
Experience with DevOps, Jira, or related
Degree in data science, statistics, computer science, computer engineering, or information systems
Supply Chain and Asset Management experience is a plus
