As a Forecasting Analyst, you will develop and communicate energy and peak demand forecasts while collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive operational excellence and strategic planning.
Develop and communicate the energy, peak demand, and revenue forecasts for Southern Company’s electric utility operating companies.
Regularly improve and enhance company understanding of energy usage trends and their impact on energy demands and company strategies.
Prepare and present results of the forecast and related projects to the operating company representatives.
Provide technical expertise in forecasting and modeling across the company
Provide technical support in regulatory proceedings like Integrated Resource Plans (IRP) and rate case filings and PSC.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients.
Perform special projects and assignments.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s Degree required – B.A./B.S. strongly preferred in Economics or Statistics.
6 months experience in forecasting or quantitative analysis is required.
Must have strong quantitative, modeling, analytical, technical, organizational, project management, presentation, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office products, Eviews, SAS, or other programming applications used in forecasting and data analytics.
Candidate is expected to have time management skills to balance multiple priorities while producing high quality work under tight deadlines.

Preferred
Master’s degree or graduate degree in a complementary field like Finance or Engineering is preferred.
