Responsibilities

Conduct field and on-site research to observe boaters using Mercury Marine products (e.g., engines, controls, navigation systems) in real-world settings
Gather qualitative insights on user behaviors, needs, and pain points
Engage directly with customers and end users through interviews, surveys, and ethnographic studies
Be comfortable initiating conversations to understand how and why people use our products and services
Analyze and synthesize research findings to identify patterns and the "why" behind user behaviors
Translate observations into clear, written insights (e.g., reports, personas, journey maps) that provide actionable recommendations for product managers, designers, and customer experience teams
Work closely with Product Management, Design, and Customer Experience teams to ensure user research findings guide decision-making and innovation
Communicate research outcomes through presentations and share-outs
Travel to marinas, boat shows, and customer sites as needed to conduct in-person research

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in UX Research, Human-Centered Design, Psychology, or a related field
1 year of experience or prior internship experience
Ability to interpret qualitative data and uncover deep insights from user behavior
Familiarity with user research methods (interviews, field studies, surveys, usability testing) and related tools for note-taking, analysis, and presentation
