Google offers an 18-month Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program designed to develop entry-level technical and professional information technology skills. The Information Technology Apprentice will troubleshoot hardware and software, support users and IT systems, contribute to process improvement projects, and apply IT security and AI/ML tools where appropriate.
Troubleshoot and solve issues for Google’s corporate resources, tools, operating systems and applications both locally and remotely
Provide remote and user support that includes root cause analysis of IT issues on multiple technologies and platforms, including hardware, software, tools, services, networks, and integrated video and audio conferencing equipment at Google
Contribute to IT projects for workflow automation and process improvements
Practice responsible, effective, and innovative use of AI
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or practical experience
Not currently enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree program in an information technology (IT) related field (i.e., Information Systems, Information Technology, Applied Networking, System Administration)
Less than 1 year of relevant information technology (IT) experience
Preferred
Less than 1 year of experience in an IT or a related technical field (i.e., personal projects, coding languages, operating systems, building computers/apps, volunteering with STEM organizations, etc.)
Experience using Google Workspace or a similar suite of productivity tools
Ability to navigate ambiguous tasks, manage multiple priorities, find suitable solutions, and seek help/advice where appropriate
Ability to be proactive and have a positive attitude
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, customer service capabilities, and critical thinking abilities
Enthusiasm and passion for new technologies and commitment to learning

Upon completion, apprentices receive a nationally-recognized credential, certified by the U.S. Department of Labor.
