Google provides a search engine that retrieves information from various online sources, and they are seeking a Power Hardware Engineer for their Pixel team. In this role, you will design and optimize charging solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to global wireless charging standards.
Work with cross-functional hardware, software and systems teams to define, implement and integrate battery charging (wired/wireless) hardware solutions to meet product battery charging requirements.
Define and develop detailed circuit/analytic models for optimizing charging efficiency, reduce charging time and improve charging thermal performance.
Define, develop and optimize magnetic components for charging, for example, wireless charging coils using EM/analytic modeling and simulation tools.
Create hardware power testing plan, validate the charging hardware system and work with cross-functional teams for system validation in products.
Propose and drive implementation of innovative new power solution for charging features across hardware and software to provide better experience.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in power conversion design for consumer electronics applications, for example, battery charging, USB-PD adapter, wireless charging, etc.
Preferred
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
5 years of experience in power conversion design for consumer electronics applications, for example, battery charging, USB-PD adapter, wireless charging, etc.
Experience in wireless charging design and WPC-Qi specification.
Understanding of system power converter modeling and simulation; electromagnetic modeling, analysis fundamentals, and simulation tools.
Understanding of on-board power conversion design for consumer electronics battery charging applications.
