The Security Engineer will work with the security team to maintain secure operating environments by monitoring systems for attacks and collaborating with software engineers to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities.
Architect and implement automated security test infrastructure and specific tests to ensure correct and sufficient implementation of security controls for hardware platforms.
Scope and define automated security testing criteria to maintain security controls for hardware deployed in Google's data centers.
Scope and deliver comprehensive security reviews of hardware/firmware components.
Develop and refine threat models, risk assessments, and define security requirements for hardware products entering Google’s data centers.
Design and engineer the necessary security controls for identified threats and risks, and provide subject matter expertise to PIE teams designing and developing the next generation data center hardware.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
1 year of experience with hardware or firmware security.
Experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
Experience in C, C++, Software Engineering, Firmware, Security, Security Analysis.
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
1 year of experience in writing tests for platform security properties in hardware and firmware.
