Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and components within the Autocap capacity management ecosystem
  • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of scalable and reliable infrastructure for demand forecasting, resource modeling, supply management, and footprint optimization
  • Collaborate with team members and partner teams (e.g., Spatial Flex, Rollouts, Server Platform, Flex) to integrate Autocap with other production systems and enhance end-to-end automation
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency by refactoring code, optimizing algorithms, and addressing technical debt
  • Contribute to the team's technical roadmap and help shape the future of automated capacity management at Google. Write and review design documents and high-quality code, adhering to Google's engineering best practices and standards

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in general software development
  • 2 years of experience with back-end software development
  • 1 year of experience with distributed systems

Preferred

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • 3 years of experience in infrastructure development
  • Experience with large-scale production environments and technologies, such as cluster management systems, Prodspec, Annealing
  • Experience with data analysis, time-series data, or optimization algorithms
  • Experience building scalable, reliable, and efficient distributed systems, and the knowledge of systems design
  • Familiarity with capacity management concepts, resource forecasting, or service placement challenges
