Google is a leading technology company that develops next-generation technologies to connect billions of users. They are seeking a Software Engineer to work on the Andromeda team, focusing on building software for network virtualization and advanced features in Google Cloud.
Write high-performance system development code in C++ for the Andromeda On-Host Controller and network virtualization stack
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies for distributed control planes and next-generation hardware integration
Review C++ code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
Experience with systems infrastructure, C++ programming, or Unix/Linux environments
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms
Experience developing accessible technologies
Experience with distributed systems, cloud networking, or TCP/IP networking protocols
Experience designing or maintaining large-scale infrastructure systems, focusing on concurrency, multithreading, or back-end services
