Google is a leading technology company that develops next-generation technologies for billions of users. They are seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the GDC-ag Virtual Environments team, ensuring healthy environments that mimic production through automation and tooling, and supporting the delivery of Google’s private cloud product.
Be able to code and debug, and develop tools for working within various environments. This includes OC rollout/rollback, test execution, resource utilization, result reporting, and health monitoring.
Partner with engineering teams to ensure the quality of operable components are rolled out to the environments.
Drive the product feature deliverables, customer issue resolution, and virtual environments additional features to match the physical setups.
Write automation to manage physical environments setup and health.
Integrate the platform/test environment with CI/CD.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Experience in one or more of the following: test automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, building tools and testing frameworks.
Experience with Engineering Tools and Infrastructure.
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience with Google Distributed Cloud/Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, or Google Kubernetes Engine.
Experience in infrastructure with broad knowledge across compute, storage and networking.
Expertise on the networking and lower level of software stack (Kernel).
