Google is a leading technology company known for its innovative projects and global reach. They are seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex engineering projects, managing schedules, risks, and communications with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage the design, planning, and field construction of telecommunications infrastructure (e.g., fiber optic networks) to ensure safe, timely, and requirements-compliant completion.
Build relationships with communities and contractor partners to facilitate the Outside Plant (OSP) construction and installation of the network within a specific market.
Assist upstream planning and acquisition teams in developing infrastructure requirements, priorities, and delivery date expectations.
Oversee the program to manage vendor handover documentation (e.g., LOA/CFA (Letter Of Authority, Customer Facility Assignment), DLR (Design Layout Record) Completion notification, test results and technical drawings) while working with vendors and Google staff to coordinate and facilitate record-keeping and communication.
Liaise with city officials, utilities, and community members to manage permits, secure rights-of-way, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in program management influencing across a cross-functional organization.
Experience in the Fiber or Telecommunications industry.
Experience using KMZ files.
Preferred
2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience with construction engineering, fiber optic installation, fiber splicing, ROWs (Rights-of-Way), easements, or permitting with local jurisdictions.
Experience analyzing fiber characterization results, such as OTDR and Power Meter data.
Experience using Google Earth, Visio, or LucidCharts.
Experience managing projects or programs with multiple OSP worksites and concurrent goals.
