The Actuarial Analyst will support client teams in managing the financial risks of benefit programs by performing actuarial valuations, financial analyses, projections, renewals, and reporting, while coordinating projects and improving processes.
Produce calculations specific to group insurance plans, such as actuarial valuations, analytical studies and projections
Provide technical support for client projects (cost projections, renewal, marketings, plan design enhancements, plan review, employee communication and administration)
Produce experience monitoring reports, including analysis of claim costs, trend and client relevant KPIs
Draft client ready communication material to communicate results of our analysis
Support ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business units to support client facing colleagues
Coordinate projects with other team members, other business units and carriers!
Increase efficiency by contributing to the improvement of standardized processes and tools
Participate in team projects and activities which drive innovation, improved client value and business results
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree is required
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for our clients
Strong organization skills and the ability to optimally coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services
Strong technical expertise and the proven record to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written
Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Ability to prioritize challenging requirements and deadlines
Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package
Preferred
preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
Completion of at least 2 SOA exams, and working towards completion of ACIA and ASA designation
