They are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst responsible for understanding business requirements, translating them into user stories, performing data analysis using SQL, and supporting UAT and testing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand, analyze, and clarify business requirements
  • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable user stories in JIRA
  • Write detailed acceptance criteria in Gherkin format based on the understood requirements
  • Partner with business users, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure stories and acceptance criteria are well understood and implemented correctly
  • Perform data analysis using SQL to validate business rules, investigate issues, and support decision-making
  • Develop data flow diagrams and process flows to represent system interactions and data movement
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating with business users, tracking defects, and validating fixes
  • Participate in testing activities and ensure delivered solutions align with business expectations and defined acceptance criteria
  • Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions
  • Maintain clarity, consistency, and traceability across requirements, stories, and testing outcomes

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role
  • Strong experience in business requirement gathering and analysis
  • Hands-on experience creating user stories and writing acceptance criteria in Gherkin format in JIRA
  • Hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis and validation
  • Experience creating data flow diagrams, process maps, or similar analysis artifacts
  • Good understanding of UAT, testing processes, defect tracking, and validation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred

  • Experience in the Secondary Mortgage domain
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall delivery environments
  • Exposure to tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, or similar tools
