Labcorp is a global leader in laboratory services, providing the insights and answers that help healthcare providers make confident decisions. They are seeking a remote Cytogenetics Analyst (FISH) to conduct FISH and cytogenetic analysis, ensuring quality patient care through accurate test results.
Perform FISH analysis, which includes analysis and imaging of digitized images
Cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
Review of cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documents
Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot equipment, software and applications to ensure proper functionality
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Reports any and all problems to the general supervisor in a timely manner
Collaborates with general supervisor on protocol/policy development and review
Provides feedback to senior technologists on technical matters
Understands and complies with company policies and procedures
Maintain a safe work environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
1 year or more experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
The candidate must have a home office space that is a dedicated room, not shared with other people, and meets HIPAA compliance
Agree to have your home address added to reports of cases you analyze or report. This is a CMS requirement
Wired internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec is required
The candidate must have the ability to work remotely effectively as required in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands
