The Data Engineer II will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the enterprise data warehouse and related data platforms, ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of data processes that support key business functions.
Design, develop, and maintain data platforms supporting enterprise data warehouse, operational data store, and data marts with robust data access, security, and governance measures
Establish and implement enterprise-scale data integration procedures, pipelines, and frameworks across the data development lifecycle
Create data ingestion pipelines for large-scale data platforms, utilizing scheduled and trigger-based patterns with appropriate scheduling tools
Develop optimized DDLs for relational and columnar databases such as Oracle, Postgres, and Netezza, aligned with logical data models
Perform performance tuning of complex data pipelines and SQL queries to ensure efficiency and scalability
Conduct impact analysis for proposed changes, evaluating effects on existing architecture, capabilities, and system priorities
Manage deliverables, review designs, and coordinate release management activities with development teams
Estimate project timelines, identify technical risks, and communicate issues and solutions proactively
Drive automation initiatives, identify inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements to optimize data flows
Utilize agile engineering practices to rapidly develop and deploy data products that meet business needs
Collaborate with product owners to understand objectives, participate in PI planning, and coordinate requirement delivery
Provide technical support for production incidents and system failures, ensuring minimal downtime
Work effectively with global technology teams across different time zones to deliver timely business value
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with at least 2 years of experience in data engineering, database management, or equivalent
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in data engineering or related areas
Proficiency in designing and building Data Warehouses and Data Lakes
Experience with large-scale data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, or Google BigQuery
Strong SQL development skills and experience with scripting languages like Python
Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles
Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools including Informatica, SAP BODS, Fivetran, AWS Glue, and DBT
Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions and services such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake, and Google BigQuery
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines and database objects
Understanding of version control systems like GitLab and CI/CD processes
