The Financial Analyst position is dedicated to providing comprehensive financial and analytical support to senior management, contributing to key financial processes such as month-end closing and financial planning.
Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, variance explanations, and general ledger research to ensure accurate billing opportunities
Collaborate with operational leaders to identify and recommend cost and productivity improvements
Support financial forecasting, business planning, and branch performance analysis
Provide financial training and guidance to Business Unit staff on policies, procedures, and financial tools
Conduct branch audits to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
Act as a liaison between Business Units and Ryder's Shared Services Center and Corporate Accounting group
Track, report, and follow up on financial performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvement
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the finance team and organizational goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field
Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and business planning
Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards
Experience with financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems)
Willingness to travel 10-20% as needed
Preferred
Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations
