The Mortgage Loan Analyst Is responsible for reviewing, underwriting, and recommending mortgage loan transactions while contributing to portfolio reporting and market research to ensure efficient loan operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review, underwrite, negotiate, and recommend new loan originations and refinances within established guidelines
  • Analyze borrower and tenant financials, organizational structures, and third‑party reports
  • Prepare underwriting spreadsheets, commitment letters, and documentation for extensions, assumptions, modifications, and other loan actions
  • Support communication and workflow between underwriting, investor relations, closing, and servicing teams
  • Develop and maintain portfolio reports, models, and market research to support mortgage investment decisions
  • Conduct property site inspections and provide analytical support to the investment division

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial mortgage lending, real estate investment, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of commercial mortgage lending practices, legal documentation, and real estate valuation concepts
  • Proficiency with financial analysis, underwriting techniques, and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interpret and present financial and underwriting information clearly
  • Experience with mortgage loan databases or investment analysis software
  • Familiarity with real estate market research and portfolio reporting
