QA Engineer - Rate Tester

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough testing of carrier online applications, rates and benefits, eHealth systems including functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues using bug tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and provide feedback on potential issues and improvements.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects and work with the development team to resolve them.
  • Ensure that all testing activities are completed on time and meet the quality standards set by the team.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing efforts.
  • Utilize the benefit regression automation tools to verify benefit data on QA platforms to ensure it is successfully pushed to production.
  • Follow the testing flow for online applications, ensure accurate PDF mapping and document control throughout the testing process.

Qualification

Required

  • Has proven experience as an application tester or in a similar testing role.
  • Possesses a strong attention to detail, with the ability to validate data based on specific requirements and who has an understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Has experience with testing content on platforms, including use of automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Has a background in Medicare, healthcare and content data management.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of data relationships and dependencies, with the ability to effectively implement and manage system configurations.
  • Has a willingness to participate in meetings with carriers, stakeholders and colleagues in offshore time zones.
  • Can handle daily operational testing work while also helping develop, support and implement future automation and data loading strategies.
  • Will innovate with AI & Automation. Explore opportunities to apply AI-driven product development, LLM-based solutions, and agentic automation within shared services to streamline workflows, improve scalability, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as either a QA engineer or Tester in Test role.

Preferred

  • Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry is preferred.
  • Proven experience as data tester or in a similar testing role.
  • Experience and willingness to work with offshore teams including time shifting to account for different time zones.
  • Nice to Have: Experience in AI-driven product development, knowledge of LLM (Large Language Models), and building agentic solutions that leverage automation and intelligent workflow.
  • Experience with technologies like SQL, ORACLE, DataQuery, XML, Web services and API is preferred.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks. Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with bug tracking tools such as JIRA or similar.
