The Technical Service Specialist will provide technical services for Medtronic’s multi-product ablation business, focusing on service and repair strategies for capital equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting customer service initiatives.
Respond to customer and field personnel technical inquiries to the CAS contact center accurately and efficiently, by phone and email, during standard business hours and outside business hours (on-call) on a rotational basis.
Maintain and submit technical records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.
Provide process, documentation, tools, equipment, and materials to the global field service organization to allow them to accomplish their work effectively and efficiently.
Assist in the update or create procedures, quality documents, service manuals, or other documentation required for field and technical services teams.
Support projects aimed at increasing customer uptime and service effectiveness including communication with Medtronic field service and depots worldwide that service CAS capital equipment.
Provide input to the organization on key projects focused on quality improvements, system updates and next generation equipment.
Support training to internal field service, technical service, sales and clinical personnel.
Work with the global field organization to support service activities in existing markets and expansion into new markets.
Manage and priorities service-related issues and escalations from the global field service team.
Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or Advanced degree with 0 years experience.
Preferred
At least one year of Degree-related industry experience
Bachelors of Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Bio-Medical)
Personal productivity and self-discipline to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting critical project timelines.
Knowledge of Medical device use and/or design
Knowledge of hospital and/or capital equipment network connectivity
Experience with electro-mechanical equipment
Strong problem solving and analytical skills; advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Access
Multi lingual ability (German and/or Spanish preferred) with an understanding / appreciation of other cultures
