RTX Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer I to join their team. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions for aerospace and defense applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions for aerospace and defense applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and other software engineers, to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Participate in software requirement analysis, code reviews, and testing procedures.
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
Follow established software development processes, including Agile methodologies and industry standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and team efficiency.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (STEM).
This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
Experience with programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java (internship, academic, or project-based).
Understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred
Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.
Experience with DevSecOps
Experience with version control tools such as Git.
Knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.
Knowledge of Agile development practices.
Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
Exposure to software testing frameworks and tools.
Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
