BWX Technologies, Inc. is a U.S.-based engineering and manufacturing company providing nuclear solutions for global security, clean energy, and related applications. The company is seeking a Junior .NET Application Developer to develop and maintain enterprise applications, write SQL queries and stored procedures, troubleshoot software issues, update technical documentation, and collaborate with experienced developers on code reviews and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining features within large .NET applications
Work with VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core / .NET 6+, or .NET Framework
Write and maintain basic SQL queries and stored procedures
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving software issues with support from senior team members
Help prepare and update technical documentation
Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements, existing logic, and best practices
Take part in code reviews to learn and apply feedback
Support continual improvement initiatives within the team

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Academic experience or internship exposure to .NET development (VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core, or .NET Framework)
Basic understanding of SQL (writing queries, joins)
Solid foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
Familiarity with layered architecture and separation of concerns from coursework or projects
Eagerness to learn new technologies and work within large, established codebases
Ability to work collaboratively, or individually, follow directions, and ask clarifying questions as needed
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance

Preferred

Exposure to Entity Framework or similar ORM tools (academic or internship experience)
Basic knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server environments
Experience with academic or internship projects involving .NET applications
Understanding of common design principles from coursework
